Melody Lab
This immersive music camp is geared toward students between 8-12 years of age who want to explore music in a fun and supportive environment.
Two different morning class options are being offered.:
Class option 1 - Musical concepts and hands-on experiences await students new to music instruction.
Class option 2 - Violin students with one or more years experience will sharpen their skills in music reading with focus on note recognition, fingerboard geography, rhythms from whole notes through eighth notes, and writing on the staff.
All students will combine in the afternoon to participate in music appreciation and movement activities.
Students will present a musical showcase on the final day with individual and group performance opportunities.
The Camp
When and Where:
The camp runs from 9am to 3pm daily on August 10th through August 14th, located at 3530 Greenwood Blvd. Maplewood, MO 63143
Students can be dropped off between 8:45-9am, and picked up between 3-3:15pm.
Lunch
Participants are expected to bring their own lunch with them each day.
End of Camp Showcase
All students will present a musical showcase on the final day, exact time TBA
Registration and Fees
Tuition: $325, Early Bird rate of $300 if registered by February 28. Scholarships are also available - email info@stlstringcollective.com for more information.

Abbie Steilling
Abbie Steiling is a St. Louis–based performer, educator, and composer/arranger. She holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Webster University, with post-graduate study at Belmont University. She performs internationally across genres, most notably as music director and violinist of the ’70s prog-rock band Pavlov’s Dog, appearing on six recent albums. Her credits include performing in backing ensembles of The Who, The Eagles, JD Blackfoot, and Sister Hazel, and earned an RIAA-certified platinum record for work with Ricky Montgomery. As a bandleader and composer, she has released two fusion albums with Common Time and Steizuello, with her solo album To the Nebula released in 2025. An active educator for over 2 decades, she maintains a private studio and is often serving as a guest clinician in area schools.

Brandy Greiner
Brandy Greiner is a career educator and amateur fiddle player and pianist who enjoys introducing children to all kinds of music! She has experience with children of all ages and is excited about the opportunity to offer this program through the String Collective.
