Mariana Wood
Mariana Wood is a Brazilian-born violinist and passionate music educator based in the St. Louis area. She began her studies in São Paulo with Renata Jaffe and performed extensively with youth and professional ensembles across Brazil before moving to the U.S. to study under the Arianna String Quartet. Mariana holds degrees in Violin Performance from the University of Missouri–St. Louis and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where she also earned her Suzuki Method certification.
Mariana has maintained a successful private violin and viola studio for over 15 years, working with students of all ages and backgrounds. She also developed and led a thriving string program at the St. Louis Language Immersion Schools, where she directed the French School’s after-school music program for six years. Currently, she teaches elementary strings and conducts the honors orchestra in the Clayton School District. Mariana brings warmth, experience, and a deep love of music to every classroom, ensemble, and student she works with.
