Intro to Improvisation for Professionals w/ Alyssa Avery

This class is specifically designed for professional musicians and teachers who have always wanted to explore musical improvisation. This fast placed, fun, and supportive class will cover multiple techniques and musical genres, as well as ways to introduce improvisation to your students. No improvisation experience necessary but a high level of proficiency on an instrument is required.

Dates: Sept. 20th, Sept. 27th, and Oct. 4th from 11am-noon

Alyssa Avery is a versatile violinist who explores the intersection of jazz, folk, classical, and improvised music. A graduate of Webster University with a degree in Jazz Performance, she has performed widely across genres, including jazz, hip-hop, bluegrass, and traditional and contemporary folk music. Alyssa has taught for Jazz St. Louis and for the former Folk School of KDHX, and is a co-founder of the St. Louis String Collective
